The RPL To Go van brings the library to you! At each location, we provide collections of all types including books, games and puzzles. Our staff will deliver programs and share services right where our Richmond community gathers. Visit one of our scheduled stops to:
- Sign up and start borrowing immediately
- Borrow and return items on the spot
- Pick up holds at one of our scheduled stops
- Stay connected by using our free WiFi
- Attend programs tailored for each visit
- Explore our digital resources and learn more about our online resources

RPL To Go Schedule
Join us at these locations where our friendly staff are available to connect!
- West Richmond Community Centre: Every Tuesday from 12:00pm to 2:00pm
- Thompson Community Centre: Every Wednesday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm
- Richmond Food Bank Society – Cedarbridge Way: Every third Thursday of each month from 10:00am to 1:00pm
Holds Pick-Up Service
Place a hold on a title from any of our libraries and select “RPL To Go” as your pick-up location.
You will receive a phone or email notification when your hold is ready. Visit the RPL To Go van at any of our scheduled stops to pick up your hold!
Our service of providing holds is free, however if holds are not picked up within 7 days, a $2.00 fee will be charged to your library account.

Why does Richmond Public Library have the RPL To Go Van?
The goal of the RPL To Go Van is to ensure that community members can access library services regardless of where they live in Richmond, and for community who do not live near a library, we are reaching out to you.
Where does the RPL To Go Van go?
The RPL To Go Van visits community organizations, events and public spaces across Richmond. Our services span from community parks to local schools to the Food Bank to supportive housing, and more! The goal of the RPL To Go Van is to ensure that community members can access library services no matter where they live in Richmond, and regardless of whether they are or are not near a physical library building.
Does the RPL To Go Van have its own collection?
Yes, it does. The RPL To Go Van collection has hundreds of books, games and puzzles for our community to enjoy. You can borrow any item from the van, just as you do from any library building and return them to any RPL location.
How does borrowing and returning work?
You can borrow from the van and return to any location of your choosing, including at any van location.
You can return items from any RPL locations directly to the van and we will get items back quickly to the right location.
Why can’t I place RPL To Go location items on hold?
RPL To Go Van items are offered on a first-come, first-served level to ensure a full collection for van visitors. As such, items can only be borrowed in-person based on what is available in the van at any time.

Can I go inside the van?
No. Customers will have access to library resources right outside the library van for easy browsing and for safety. We have a protective awning to keep the rain away. We are bringing library service to you rain or shine!
