I used a Richmond Public Library digital access code — what do I get access to?

Do I have to log in or create a New York Times account to redeem my code?
Yes, a NYTimes account is required. Your code provided by RPL grants digital access to a NYTimes.com account. During the redemption process you must either sign in or create a NYTimes account if you are not already signed in.
I’m having trouble redeeming my code. What should I do?
If you receive an error when attempting to redeem your code, try the following steps:
- Verify you are logged in to a nytimes.com account (use an existing account or create a new one)
- Verify the nytimes.com account you are logged into is not already associated with a New York Times subscription. You can do this by going to your Account page and looking under Subscription Details.
If the issue persists, please contact NYTimes Customer Care.

What happens if I lose my digital access code?
Digital access codes are issued daily. If you lose your code you can still get a new one the following day.
Do I need to give my credit card information to redeem my code?
No, you do not need to provide any financial information. With RPL codes you are only required to have a NYTimes.com account to redeem the code.
You will never need to pay for access from RPL Digital Access Codes. Any request for payment or to sign up for a paid subscription from the NYTimes is separate from the free access given by RPL.
When does my digital access begin?
Your access begins as soon as you complete the code redemption process and lasts until 11:59PM of the current day.
What happens when the digital access period ends?
At 11:59PM of the day you redeemed your code you will no longer have unlimited access to the NYTimes.com website and apps. You will need to request a new code by signing into the NYTimes through our website and library card to get a new code https://www.yourlibrary.ca/new-york-times-access/.
How long do I have to redeem a code?
A code is only valid for the day that it is issued. If you don’t use your code the day it is issued you will need to obtain a new code by signing in to the NYTimes through our website at https://www.yourlibrary.ca/new-york-times-access/
