Denise Hui

Chair

Appointed to the Board in 2019, Denise is a commercial and residential real estate agent going on 20 years in the industry with extensive experience in fund development. A life-long Richmond resident and library user, she is an active advocate for the library and knowledgeable about marketing, digital services, and web systems. Denise represents the library on the Steveston Community Centre Concept Design Building Committee, volunteers with BC Children’s Hospital Foundation on various fundraising committees, and is active in local fitness organizations.

Michael Wolfe

Council Liaison

Appointed as the Council liaison to the Library Board in 2025, Michael is father of two young children and has been a secondary school science teacher for nearly 20 years. A life-long Richmond resident and library user, he is an active advocate for libraries as a source for books, study space, and as a valuable public facility. As a resident in the Hamilton neighbourhood, Michael frequents the popup library on Saturdays and he loves reading to his kids and is always on the hunt for another local biology book.
Councillor Wolfe serves as the chair of the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Committee.

Jennifer Gervès-Keen

Trustee

Appointed to the Board in 2024, Jennifer Gervès-Keen is an award-winning master executive coach, facilitator and speaker who works with senior leaders in business, government and non-profit organizations through her business, JGK Consulting, since 2008. A resident of Richmond since 2005, Jen is a strong believer in the power of words and is passionate about literacy and free access to educational resources for all. Trained in adult development and learning, neuroscience, change management and neurodiversity, Jen is known for being a specialist in leadership and workforce behaviour. Most weekends you will find Jen on the water rowing with her club; she also volunteers her time to assist the youth of Covenant House in Vancouver.

Gina Mahil

Trustee

Appointed to the board in 2026, Gina brings both a strong professional background and a deeply personal connection to public libraries. Growing up with immigrant parents, the public library was a cornerstone of Gina’s childhood. Weekly walks to the library to borrow books fostered her love of reading and learning, and shaped her belief in libraries as inclusive, welcoming spaces that create opportunity and belonging.


Gina brings extensive volunteer leadership experience within the Richmond community. These roles include serving as Chair for her children’s elementary school Parent Advisory Council and various positions with the Richmond Ravens Hockey Association.


Professionally, Gina has over 20 years of marketing experience where she provides strategic leadership, supports governance and planning, and manages complex marketing programs serving various communities. Gina is honored to give back to the library system that continues to have such a meaningful impact on her life and the Richmond community.

Sherine Merhi

Trustee

Appointed to the Library Board in 2021, Sherine holds a BS in Landscape Design and Eco-Management enabling her to maintain an ecological perspective on issues affecting our world. A resident of Richmond since 2011, Sherine has served in various volunteer positions in the city and the community at large. She is currently serving as the director of social services at the BC Muslim Association – Richmond Branch and is the Vice Chairperson of the Parent Advisory Committee. She believes libraries have a significant influence on community life and can be an essential tool in connecting people to each other and to important resources. Sherine is a passionate advocate for the continuous pursuit of knowledge and healthy integration of newcomers to Canada.

Jacqueline Morrison

Trustee

Appointed to the board in 2025, Jacqueline is a passionate reader that believes libraries are a conduit for sharing knowledge, understanding diverse perspectives, and opening ourselves to new worlds.

 

Jacqueline has a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University. As part of her college experience, she worked as a co-op in the library at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Since completing university Jacqueline has continued to pursue educational opportunities and received certification in Occupational Health and Safety from BCIT and Change Management from UBC Sauder. In 2009, Jacqueline attained her professional designation as Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP).

 

Since 2018, she has worked at WorkSafeBC in various roles supporting industry, employers, and workers in creating safer workplaces. Currently, she is a manager in the Prevention Services division leading the development and implementation of new risk reduction strategic frameworks.

Appointed to the Board in 2024, Angeline, a Chartered Professional Accountant, brings expertise in transformative business practices, optimizing operations, and fostering growth. With a background in efficiency, organizational effectiveness, and talent development, she has acquired diverse industry experience while leading global teams.

 

Beyond her professional commitments, Angeline has dedicated numerous years to volunteer service, currently serving as Treasurer for her children’s school Parent Advisory Council.

 

A lifelong library enthusiast, Angeline shares her passion for libraries and learning with her two children, emphasizing their invaluable role as essential hubs connecting people, sharing knowledge, and providing key resources to enrich the learning experience. Dedicated to leveraging her skills, she aims to further amplify the impact of libraries on the community she serves.

Angeline Singh

Bryan Tisdall, CM

Trustee

Bryan was appointed to the Board in 2026, and has been a Richmond resident since 1997, when he and his family moved to the West Coast from Toronto for him to take on the position of President & CEO of Science World British Columbia, in which he served for over 19 years. Throughout his career Bryan has been involved in the management of not-for-profit organizations and has a commitment to the power of local organizations, particularly public libraries, to enrich the texture of community life and contribute to healthy, happy families. In 2017, Bryan was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada for his life-long contribution to community development and the promotion of science appreciation amongst families and children across British Columbia.

Angelica Victoria

Trustee

Appointed to the board in 2025, Angelica brings a wealth of experience in strategy, operations, and CX (customer experience) from her diverse professional background.

 

Having held various leadership roles in public transportation, technology / telecommunications, and consumer goods, Angelica is best known for her people-focused leadership, big-picture thinking, and collaborative ideas. Outside of her professional achievements, she has a strong desire to drive meaningful change: her work on community impact has been featured on Women of Influence, The Globe and Mail, and other media channels.

 

As a mom raising young readers, Angelica strongly believes in the power of curiosity, knowledge, and literacy. She has seen first-hand the power of libraries: how it inspires the love of learning and how that can extend through generations. Angelica hopes to bring her skills and perspectives from top-tier global organizations to enrich and serve the community she and her family live in.
