Community Resources
Richmond Public Library runs two Community Services programs that help Richmond residents navigate local community resources and services to reduce or prevent challenges related to poverty. As of May 2025, these two programs have connected over 2,500 library customers with 40 community service organizations.
Community Services Pop Up
At our Community Services Pop Up, representatives from community organizations are available to chat and share information about the services and supports they offer to Richmond residents. Topics include help navigating health and benefit systems, affordable housing and newcomer services and more.

Community Services Connectors
The Community Servicers Connectors Program is a peer-supported program that connects Richmond residents to available services and supports. Community Service Connectors are trained and experienced in navigating community organizations and government services, and can assist with free or low-cost resources in Richmond.

Shelter Lists
The Shelter List shows available shelter beds and mats for women, men, youth, and families. Updated twice daily at 11:30 am and 7:30 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays). Visit Site
